ABSTRACT:
A Industrial automation control systems rely heavily on sensor data acquisition, yet current implementations face significant challenges. The lack of standardized communication protocols across different sensor manufacturers creates compatibility issues, often requiring power cycling of acquisition boards when modifying sensor configurations. Additionally, traditional sensor reading cycles depend excessively on embedded programming techniques, limiting flexibility. This paper presents a novel reconfigurable data acquisition system design that addresses these limitations using a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) as the core controller. Our solution incorporates both dynamic and static system reconfiguration capabilities, enabling seamless adaptation to various sensor types and configurations without system downtime. The proposed system's effectiveness has been successfully validated through practical implementation in an automated production system for polycarboxylic acid water-reducing agent, demonstrating significant improvements in operational flexibility and efficiency.
