ABSTRACT:
The rapid increase in plastic waste generation has become a serious environmental concern worldwide. Conventional disposal methods such as landfilling and incineration create severe ecological and health problems. One innovative and sustainable solution is the utilization of waste plastic in road construction. Plastic roads not only help in effective waste management but also improve pavement performance by enhancing strength, durability, and resistance to water damage. This research paper presents a detailed case study and design methodology of a plastic road using waste plastic. The study includes material properties, construction process, advantages, limitations, and numerical design aspects such as bitumen replacement percentage, material quantity estimation, and cost analysis. The findings demonstrate that plastic roads are economical, environmentally friendly, and technically superior to conventional bituminous roads.
