ABSTRACT:
This paper presents the design and implementation of a low-cost, IoT-enabled fire detection system for early warning and safety monitoring. The proposed system integrates smoke and temperature sensors with an ESP8266 microcontroller to detect fire hazards in real time. Upon detection of smoke or abnormal temperature rise, the system activates a buzzer and LED for audible and visual alerts, displays the status on an I2C LCD, and sends notifications to a cloud platform for remote monitoring via an Android application. The system operates on battery power, ensuring continuous functionality during main power outages. With a total component cost of approximately ₹450 (INR), the proposed solution is affordable, portable, and suitable for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
