ABSTRACT:
Concrete is the most widely used construction material in the world. However, the production of cement causes significant environmental pollution due to high CO₂ emissions. Fly ash, a by-product of thermal power plants, can be used as a partial replacement of cement to improve concrete properties and sustainability. This paper presents the design of a concrete mix using fly ash, highlighting its material properties, mix design procedure as per Indian Standards, advantages, and practical applications. The study shows that fly ash concrete improves workability, durability, and long-term strength while reducing cost and environmental impact.
